Zoe and I decided to have an impromptu mommy-daughter date yesterday to go see Frozen on opening day and we loved it!
The movie, inspired by Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen, is the story of two sister princesses, Elsa and Anna. Elsa has the unfortunate curse of being able to create snow and ice, a power that can become dangerous when she gets upset. The sisters lock themselves away from the world to guard this secret until Elsa’ coronation when things go terribly wrong and Elsa freezes over the entire town before running away. Now it’s up to Anna and her new friend Kristoff to defrost her chilly older sister’s heart and show her that love can conquer any problem.
I feel like Disney has been knocking it out of the park lately with their latest films. Frozen is a full musical featuring amazing songs that your kids will be humming for days. Unlike the old princess films, Frozen is geared towards boys as well with the main character playing a large and very fun role in the film along with his reindeer Sven. The snowman, Olaf, who loves summer and heat is one of the funniest characters drawn in a long time!
I’m pretty sure we will be seeing this movie again in theaters. So after your Thanksgiving feast today, gobble gobble over to your local movie theatre and see Frozen, you won’t be disappointed!
